It is time for change.

Healthcare is undergoing a seismic transition. As the population ages, chronicity of diseases amplify and the focus from sickness is transitioning into wellness. The health system needs to react fast and to do that, there is a requirement to disrupt old school thinking habits and apply new schools of thought to future proof the increased demand for healthcare. Technology will serve as a key enabler in managing the forthcoming challenges ahead in health - this is where the importance of user experience in health comes in. There is no room for poorly designed applications, hospitals and processes in healthcare - there needs to be recognition that UX design principles have its place in health and can influence care outcomes.

The way that we approach improvement for patient experience measures is to reframe it. The exercise is not to make consumers happy. The exercise is to reduce patient suffering.”
